Psychotherapy service
Inclusive and evidence-based psychotherapy face to face or from the comfort of your home
My approach
Hi there! I am a BABCP accredited CBT therapist and I have worked in mental health for over 16 years and as a qualified CBT therapist for 12 years. I currently combine working in private practice with working for the NHS.
My style is engaging, warm and collaborative, meaning that we both work together to help you make changes in your life. I work very well with people who are genuinely motivated to reflect and be curious about themselves and are ready to work towards a better future for themselves.
Areas of interest/specialisms
I have worked with people who have a wide range of problems/needs, however I do specialise in working with parents (including postnatal depression, anxiety about birth and birth trauma) and also people who are struggling to adjust to long term health conditions.
I also have special interest in acculturation and in delivering culturally-sensitive therapy.
Although not an exhaustive list, some of the conditions that I have extensive experience of working with include anxiety disorders such as GAD, PTSD, social anxiety, perfectionism, OCD and intrusive thoughts, phobias, panic attacks and panic disorder, depression, disordered eating, body dysmorphic disorder and body image issues, work stress, low self-esteem and coping with chronic pain and adjusting to long term health conditions.
I’m a CBT therapist primarily, however because of my extensive training and experience, I draw on other therapeutic approaches including CFT (Compassion Focused Therapy) ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy), attachment theory, systemic therapy and more.
We will examine your past and patterns, but main focus is how to create the life you want now.
Providing you with a safe space to explore your concerns
All your appointments will take place in my cosy therapy room or online. The outcomes for both online and in clinic therapy have been shown to be the same.
Face to face and remote options
Our clinic room is conveniently located in Chapel Allerton, Leeds. Can’t make it into the office? No worries – we’ve got you covered with video appointments. I use Microsoft Teams and What’sApp.
